I have the honour to refer to Mr. Thomas' Secret (2)

36 despatch of 20th January, 1936, regarding the transfer of

$125,000 to the credit of the Hong Kong Government in connection

with the acquisition of an aerodrome site at Pat Heung, and to inform you that a sum of $125,506.05 was deposited on behalf of

the Air Ministry with the Colonial Treasury on 8th January,

1936, this sum representing £8072. 18s. 4d converted at the

rate of $1 = 18/3-7a.

16 A copy of a certificate in respect of

this sum, supplied to the local Royal Air Force authorities

for transmission to the Air Ministry is enclosed. Approval

of the expenditure by the Colonial Goverment in respect of

the Au Tau Shek Kong road, mentioned in the certificate,

was conveyed in your predecessor's secret telegram No.49

of 17th March, 1936.
